ARCH 689, Project 2 by Mazahir Plumber

In this project we are supposed to make a web based interface for a BIM model using html coding and embedding the dwf model within a html framework. This html coding was done using Adobe Dreamwearver. The projects helps link objects in the dwf model to pages that provide more information about the object.
In the above picture we see that clicking on the car in the model would take theuser to the web page of the car manufacturer. Similarly objects in the model can be linked to pages that would provide better understanding of the object such as how it is built and its speifications.

In the picture above we see that clicking on the curtain wall would take the user to the webpage of the curtainwall manufacturer, giving us an idea of real world application of the project.

The second part of the project involves creating quaries within the database of the model, that is obtained by exporting the revit model to an ODBC database, that can be accessed and edited usingMicrosoft Access.
In the pictures above we see a query created to obtain information about different type of furniture in the model and where it is to be located. In the second we see the result of the query that shows different type of furniture and on which level it is located.

In the second query we see a query created to obtain information about different types of plumbing fixtures in the model, their count and on which level they are located. the results of the query are visible in the second picture.
This can be extremely helpful for estimators in order to do an accurate quantity take off as customized queries can be created to obtain quantities of specific items.
